HDMI can support uncompressed digital video up to HDTV resolution.
Thus the player makes use of this conduit by up-converting the
standard DVD picture resolution of 720p or 1080i. This makes a DVD
player with an HDMI connection the perfect match for today's digital
televisions. And because this conversion is performed in the player,
the signal remains free frome excessive digital to analog artifacts.
DivX Home Theater Certified:
DivX Home Theater Certification allows playback of DivX (.div/.dvix)
AVI and MPEG4 (.ASF) compressed files downloaded from the internet
from a personal computer and stored on a CD-R/-RW/Recordable DVD's.
The support extends to the full version of DivX 3.11, 4.12 and 5x as
well as DivX PRO, with video resolutions of 720 x 480 at 30 fps and
720 x 576 at 25 fps. You also get audio support for a multitude of
formats including: MP3, AC-3 (2 channel and 5.1 channel), WMA, LCPM,
ADPCM, and Ogg Vorbis.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is
a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link
any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V
receiver) with an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital
television (DTV). HDMI supports SD, ED, or high-definition (HD)

standard DVD signal to HD-compatible 720p or 1080i and pass it
through the HDMI output; upconverted signals are not passed by the

Audio D/A Converter: The Pioneer DV-400-VK has a
96kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converter for superb audio
reproduction.
Progressive Scan Output: Progressive-scan video has less
flicker and fewer motion artifacts than the traditional
interlaced-scanning method, resulting in a superior picture. To
take advantage of this feature, you must have a television with
component video inputs that supports the progressive scanning
mode. The Pro component outputs on this unit can be set to pass
either progressive or interlaced video.
MP3/WMA
Playback: This unit will play MP3/WMA audio files recorded
onto CD-ROM and CD-R discs using the ISO 9660 Level 1, Level 2 or
Joliet formats. Compatible bit rates include 32-320 kbps for MP3
and 48-192 kbps for WMA. Each disc can have no more than 256
folders and 1000 files.
JPEG
Disc Playback: This unit will play JPEG files recorded onto
CD-ROM and CD-R discs using the ISO 9660 Level 1, Level 2, or
Joliet formats. You can select a single image or a page of 9
thumbnails. Each disc can have no more than 256 folders and 1000
files. Maximum file size is 3072 x 2048.
DivX Playback:
This unit will play DivX
and MPEG-4 files recorded onto CD-ROM and CD-R discs. DivX is a
compression technology. Optional DivX software allows you to
create and play your own DivX videos. Video-on-demand movies are
also commercially available to buy or rent. Each disc can have no
more than 256 folders and 1000 files.
Zoom:
The Zoom feature allows you to get an increasingly close-up view
of the image. Each press of the Zoom button increases the
magnification to 1.3x (Zoom 1), 1.5x (Zoom 2), or 2.0x (Zoom 3).
You can also move the zoomed image around the screen.
Resume Play: Resume play allows you to resume playback of
a disc from the point where you last stopped. The stopping point
is cleared when the Stop button is pressed more than once, the
disc tray is opened, or the unit is turned off.
Bookmark: This function allows you to store bookmarks on a
disc that can be easily recalled. You can bookmark up to 3 scenes
at a time.
Parental Lock Function: You can select a parental control
rating from 0-8, which is protected by a 4-digit password.

Can't give it 5 stars, becasue I've only had it for a day now. But so
far so good. Plays all my Chinese bootlegs.. also gives a really really
good crisp picture and good sound. I was impressed. So far it's the best
player I've ever owned. Compare to those crazy $1000 blu ray things, I
much rather get this. I tried one of those and returned it. The picture
was just like this and the discs were so much more expensive.

Played all my region 1, 2, and 4 dvd movies with no problem. I don't even
have an HD tv yet, and the quality of the picture was excellent even on the
foreign movies. Played some duplicates that wouldn't play on my other sony
player as well.

This player is really awesome, it plays anything you give it with superb
picture quality... Don't worry about what region it is or where it came from,
this player is not racist... it will play stuff from anywhere. Shipping is super
fast, I ordered on Wednesday and received on Friday. No stupid little Styrofoam
popcorn all over your floor when you open the box, it was well packaged with
bubble wrap and not messy at all. Set up was 2 minutes, just connected 1 HDMI
cable to the player and the other end to the TV. Couldn't have been any

say this is my best experience so far. The Pal to NTSC conversion is perfect.
The picture quality is better then all three of my other players including a
Philips, Toshiba, and a Oppo Digital.

Just wanted to let you guys know that this player is everything you said and
more. It works absolutely great for foreign and USA movies. The HDMI output with
1080p provides really good picture quality.
Excellent player
Just received this player 2 days after ordering it with the HDMI cable
package. Well packaged, and fast delivery. Player works awesome. Haven't tried
the HDMI cable yet, I just got me old tube tv which I will be upgrading soon.
The player is really wonderful though.

Player is very nice, everything you guys described. I wanted a Silver one as
well, so I got the LG1080i player and the PIoneer. Picture quality is pretty
similar. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because my delivery the
first time which was 2 days after I ordered was not left at my door. They waited
and came back the next day until I signed for it. I wish you guys would just
have them leave it at the door so I don't have to sign. Anyway both players did
the trick. I can play all my cd, dvd's, divx movies, and region 2 dvd movies
from Europe.

Excellent player for a inexpensive one to play foreign movies. I also have a
Blu Ray player, but it is not region free. I decided to buy this one with it so
I can play my movies from Europe on it. To be real honest, there is not really a
big picture difference between this and my blu ray player. For the price, I
think this player is the best bang for your buck.

I just received this player, double boxed, fast shipping arrived in 2 days,
and plays dvd movies from the UK region 2 pal perfectly. Picture quality is
really great, and I will be getting another one from you soon.

This machine solved all my problems. I moved to the USA from Germany, and
have 100+ dvd's that I brought from Germany. I tried playing them on my dvd
player purchased at Best but and found out they didn't work. "Not only were they
the wrong region, but also they were pal and the USA uses NTSC" Is what the
sales person at Best Buy told me. I then found this player on your site, and it
solved all my problems. Thank you very much. I conected it to my LCD TV with the
HDMI cable you provided in your value package. It works flawlessly and the
picture is super. Thanks for offering this service, I am going to recommend you
to all my German friends.
Play movies from UK no problem

I just got this player. It plays my movies from the UK. I was a bit struck to
see such a low price when I ordered it. I almost thought there was something
wrong with it. I saw players from $50 all the way up to $1500. I wasn't sure
what to get. This player looked good, and the reviews were pretty helpful. I
thought I would give back a little by writing a review as well. I ended up going
with this one as it looked like a good mid priced player with great features.
Indeed it was.
Plays my chinese bootlegs
I have a lot of dvd movies that were purchased from different parts of the
world. Primarily I had problems playing my wife's discs from China. It think
they are bootleg, but most dvd players that I treid including a Philips region
free player, did not play them. This player played every one of them. I had some
VCDs and others were DVDs. All played with no issues.

Does everything they say, plays everything i've ever put in, player looks

Perfect dvd player
I purchased 2 of these players, one for me and one for my brother as a
present. We are both delighted to be able to play Movies from back home. It's
has a great quality video with HDMI connection and it is the best region free
player I have ever owned.

I purchased this dvd player from the states as the Currency is great deal now
and I was needing a region free player to play My region 2 DVDs. I must say I
was impressed by the shipping speed. I paid for fedex air delivery because it
includes the customs brokerage. I did have to pay Canadian taxes, but overall I
am very happy. It plays all my dvd movies, and stuff my son downloads from the
internet. It seems like a really durable well built machine that is rock solid.

Amazing dvd player
This is really an amazing dvd player. We got the cable package and I have it
hooked up to my Yamaha receiver and 52" Sony XBR LCD, and it is great. Thanks
for offering such a wonderful service.
Great purchase
We ordered to player on Monday and received it on Wednesday. It worked great
right out of the box. I hooked it up with HDMI and used the 1080p output. The
picture quality is really great, and I can easily play all my German movies as
well as American movies.
Great player
This is a really good player for what it is worth. It plays pretty much any
disc you put in, no matter where it is from in the world. The only discs it
doesn't play is blu-ray discs. |
