Excellent value: offers a lot for the price. HIGH DEFINITION Quality picture and excellent sound through HDMI. Plays all my European dvd movies,  I've checked and indeed enjoyed watching American and Canadian as well as Europeans (France, UK, Romania, Russia) DVD's. CD, CD/MP3s ok. I haven't checked recorded DVD's yet.  Loads very fast! Buy it, especially if you need an additional DVD player capable to handle and play NTSC or PAL format multi zone coded DVD's on an NTSC TV. Oh, I tried it With a Normal NON HD TV and the Picture quality was great. I then tried it with my HD LCD TV. This picture quality on that TV was amazing. The clarity with the  high definition 1080i signal through the component output looked excellent. We had family over for Christmas who were impressed with the quality of European movies on the TV.
